The CZ P-09 combines the best of traditional double / single action pistols with all the modern features shooters expect to find in a defensive handgun. Its polymer frame, ergonomic controls, and 19-round capacity make the P-09 an excellent choice for concealed carry or duty use.
For a full-size duty pistol, the P-09 is incredibly well balanced and affords shooters a degree of versatility not often found at this price point. The DA / SA trigger mechanism may be configured with either a decocker (the standard option from the factory) or a combination safety / decocker that is included in the box, alongside parts and interchangeable backstraps.
This means that the pistol can safely be carried cocked and locked should you so desire. Whether you opt for this method of carry or prefer a traditional DA / SA setup, the P-09 shares the uncompromising precision and instinctive handling that CZ pistols are famous for.
Although the CZ P0-9 is available for a fraction of the cost of a new H&K P30 or Sig Sauer P226, it isn't lacking in features. The forward and rear slide serrations are tactile yet unobtrusive, and the frame is textured above the trigger guard where your index finger naturally rests when not firing. Also, a generous beavertail protects the shooting hand from slide or hammer bite.
The grip itself utilizes a checkered front strap, a textured backstrap, and stippled side panels for an altogether comfortable and secure purchase on the firearm. Up top, the slide sports a standard set of 3-dot sights - but some models are available with suppressor-height sights and threaded barrels.
As with most CZ pistols, the P0-9 is an incredibly soft-shooting handgun with an intuitive double-action trigger pull and a single-action break that is exceptionally crisp. Even less-experienced shooters will be able to achieve impressive groupings with this pistol in hand.
The P0-9 also features a standard 1913 Picatinny rail for mounting weapon lights or lasers, so it is ideal for home defense or every day carry applications in low-light environments. No matter the situation, the CZ P0-9 can be adapted to suit your needs and function flawlessly when your life depends on it.
