THE HISTORY OF THE TULA CARTRIDGE

Tulammo is made in Russia, wait though ...that doesn't mean it's not quality! This is the 21st century y'all, manufacturing across the world has become more refined and has established some sort of quality control standards as far as firearms and ammunition. These quality control standards allow great firearms and ammunition to be imported into the United States. Heck, TULAMMO is even SAAMI approved. If you are not familiar with that, it is the high standards set for manufacturers in the United States, concerning firearm products. It is an acronym for Sporting Arms and Ammunition Manufacturers Institute. This cartridge is so reliable and accurate that it is currently used for Russian law enforcement and military training. This is not a new, or fly-by-night ammo manufacturer, the TULA CARTRIDGE COMPANY has actually been producing ammo for over 140 years! And I will bet that you didn't know this - TULA CARTRIDGE is even the largest supplier of small arms ammunition in the world.

TULA's 9mm CARTRIDGE

Right off the bat, it is a steel-cased cartridge, and it will not ruin your gun! Seriously, your firearms are going to get dirty, whether you are shooting brass or steel cartridges. Brass cartridges have the flexibility to expand more upon ignition which seals the chamber and does not allow debris to blowback into your firearm. Steel cartridges simply don't expand as much, but they are soft steel which still allows for some expansion. As a result, you will see more residue in your firearm. It will not affect the performance of your firearm at all if you clean it after each high-volume shooting session. With regular cleaning, which is what most of us do anyway, I will not only say that this ammo is safe, I will go as far as to say that this ammo is very safe for your firearm. Do you know where steel cased ammo gets its bad rap from? It is from shooters who do not clean their firearm between switching between ammo types. If you do not clean your firearm between switching from steel-cased ammo to brass, the heat from the brass ammo can actually fuse the debris left by the steel-cased rounds to the interior components of your firearm. All of this can be easily mitigated if you simply clean your firearm as you should. Simple solution. As far as the bullet goes, it is constructed of a mild metal and copper combination in a layered effect. There is a slight bit more friction than with copper bullets when running down the barrel of a firearm. This is not something that will damage your firearm, the risk is all but mute. What you need to know about that is that it is not a steel-cored bullet. Since steel-cored bullets are considered to be armor-piercing rounds, they are illegal to import, and as I said before these rounds are manufactured in Russia. You also cannot take steel-cored bullets to the range.

PERFORMANCE

The best method of comparing cartridge performance is by using tolerances. Remember, we have talked about the tight tolerances of the AR and the looser tolerances of the AK. Ammo is somewhat similar, except it is rated based on high tolerance and low tolerance. In this case, low tolerance is what you want. What that translates to is the weight variances of the bullet. The higher the weight variances means the larger your grouping is likely to be. This is because the bullets are not consistent with each other in weight. Low tolerance bullets result in a high-performing round and give the shooter a precision group pattern, in other words, a tighter grouping.
