Everybody, we're here today to talk about the best AR 15 stock for you. If you own an AR pistol however, you need a pistol brace. Just go ahead and comment down below your thoughts on that.
Guys, we're here today to talk about stocks, like you said in the intro. And no, I'm not talking about those financial concerns that you may or may not have. You should study up on stocks though. But anyway, we're talking about rifle stocks today and probably what might be best for your needs or what you might be looking out there. So we're going to shine some light on some of the most common, some of my favorite stocks that are available, and we can go ahead and just hop right into it, right? Clint with Classic Firearms. Don't forget, guys, Classic Firearms. You can visit our website quite simply classicfirearms.com to get all of the 2A joy you could ever ask for including free guns. Well, it's also your last day to get your entries in for that guy and that guy. Stay tuned for more details on how to get entries into the giveaway. But let's go ahead and hop right into this. So first up, we all might know the basic M4 stock, like what you see on the DoubleStar Star-15 AR right here. Great option if you're looking for just a basic AR. Boom, there you go, M4 handguards, heat shield, whatever you want to call them. It's got the M4 profile on it for the barrel cut, a two flash hider, but overall not a bad gun. I've enjoyed shooting it. It works, right especially at the price. Check it out.

M4 Stock

But anyway, the M4 stock is something that is still issued in the United States military today. It's what is issued on my FNM-4 and also what we gave away with the FNM-4 military collection. It's what comes on the gun. Like I said, this is the base, the standard when it comes to an adjustable stock. And let me make it clear too. Today, we're talking about adjustable stocks. There's a lot of stationary stocks out there that might be more so precision, things like that. And we'll do a video on that too if you guys want to hear about those options. Let me know down in the comments. All right? But anyway, it's adjustable. Most of the time depending on the buffer, it's a six position adjustable stock for your length of pull. And that just allows you, again, to conform to whoever the shooter might be for maximum comfort and also ergonomics. You got your sight here, whatever your eye relief might be on your sight. Like for instance, on the Trijicon ACOG, which is still issued, it's got a very short eye relief. Again, that's the distance from the lens to the eyeball, and you have to have this guy. For me, on my Colt, which only has a four position tube, I have to have it pretty much all the way in. So it's not always the most comfortable thing, but with practice and everything, you get used to it. All right?

Magpul

But anyways, M4 stock, basic, simple, probably one of the most common ones you can find out there especially for the price. Check them out if you're making a new build or looking to add something. But now it's going to something a little bit more comfortable and ergonomic. All right, so let's talk about Magpul. Now this is the ammo we stock CTRs what I believe they call it here and this guy is not much different as far as the profile goes from the M4 stock that you saw, but Magpul took that design and kind of upgraded it some. First off, you do have different attachments right up here, which allow you to get a higher cheek weld. You can buy these little devices that raise your eye relief or raise at least a placement on your cheek. So if you are shooting with a higher optic, wherever you have it mounted, you can add those pieces, which is a nice feature. All right? You've got a little bit more of a rubber cushioning back here. You can buy like aftermarket rubber base plates or recoil pads for the M4 stock and for just about every stock you can think of, just universal fit things out there. But personally, if you're shooting a 556 AR, I mean, you could honestly put the buffer to your shoulder and shoot it and you'll be fine, but that's not obviously the most comfortable thing. And when it comes to the stock, you got to keep in mind that your cheek weld is probably the most important fourth point of contact that you have on the rifle. One being your weak hand, two being your strong hand, three being your shoulder, and then fourth being your cheek. All right? The reason I say it's probably the most important is because of your sight picture. If you don't have a great sight picture, sight alignment, then your shot is going to be a miss and that's really what matters, right? Second, I would probably say the positioning of your what am I trying to say here? Your strong hand for your trigger if you're not getting the adequate trigger pull and everything else, you're not practicing those fundamentals of that slow, steady squeeze especially for a distance shot. You're going to be off. So stock I think is definitely an important feature. And the Magpul MOE is what this one is, just your standard Magpul stock. Isn't a bad one. You'll notice that right here is your adjustment lever for your length of pull and it locks into whatever attachment you can see, probably one of the cutouts to a couple of the cutouts there that locks in on the buffer. But anyway, they have this one covered by this piece of polymer here, so that way it won't accidentally get bumped kind of like what you could see on the M4. I personally haven't had that issue and I do a lot of run and gun and sling stuff like that. So not that big of a deal.

Magpul AR-15 MOE Stock

B5 Systems

But I'm about to show you another stock that has an exposed adjustment lever and how I keep that from moving. B5 Systems, if you guys have been watching the channel for any length of time I am a huge fan of B5 Systems' stocks and grips. This is the Magpul grip though, but the stock we're talking about is this guy right here. This is the SOPMOD enhanced version so it actually has battery compartments that are waterproof on this guy. So if you are running optics that take batteries or whatever else might be on this gun, this will be a feature giveaway, so stay tuned. But you can actually have these little tubes right here on the side that you can place batteries in and not have to worry about water getting into them or whatever else it might be. But you'll notice this actually has an exposed adjustment lever right here. Typically, what I like to do is take a ranger band, it's like a heavy duty rubber band and then kind of wrap right around here. And I actually do that for multiple reasons. One, it keeps this end depressed so I don't actually have to worry about accidentally knocking this guy and then it adjusting on me, but I also use it as sling retention. Easy enough, right? Another cool thing about the B5 stock, you can also get the one that is just your standard B5 stock looks just like this guy, but minus the battery compartment. So it's a little bit slimmer, which is nice, but it also features a QD sling mount right here, and also a standard sling mount on either side, both horizontal and vertical. Easy enough, nice thick recoil pad on it. Again, just to help mitigate recoil, help mitigate felt recoil. Overall, a great stock and that's why I run it on a lot of my stuff. Let's check out another option. On the exact opposite end from all the frills and all the cool things you saw on the B5 SOPMOD stock, you've got the Mission First Tactical minimalist stock here. And this guy, sometimes I call it a tail hook because it literally it looks like a tail hook. But this one here just offers everything for a lightweight. And it's called a minimalist stock for a reason. You've got a low-profile adjustment lever right here, hit that guy, and that allows you to change whatever position you want on the stock. And it paired up on or just I say matched up on the FosTech lightning rifle is pretty incredible. This is a 20-inch Faxon lightweight barrel, which is awesome. This rifle only comes in at six pounds and looks freaking cool. All right? I'm excited to get this one out to the range and show it off a little bit and see how it performs. But anyway, the minimalist stock, a great feature if you want to keep a lightweight build lightweight. But also to you still have sling attachments horizontal and vertical, just like what you saw on the previous ones. And again, just keeping it real simple. All right? But anyway, we'll go ahead and leave that one off.

B5 Systems Bravo Stock

Bravo Company

Oh, sorry. I did notice QD right there as well right on the bottom. So if you do have a QD sling, you can still mount it out there. Easy enough. And yeah, no frills, basic, simple. Let's show off another one. So a company that I really like also B5 Systems obviously everybody talked about them, Magpul, but also Bravo Company. All right? BCM, they have actually paired up with a guy that is the real deal, Travis Haley, Garand Thumb's dad, and he helped introduce the design of the BCM stock that you see right here, which is a very nice stock. And it also walks onto the buffer tube tight so you don't have to worry about a whole lot of shift here. The Springfield Armory is actually using BCM and B5 Systems furniture. So if you wanted to run something that actually felt really good and performs really well, check out both options. This is a base Springfield SAINT and as you can tell for the price that you're getting it, I think it's a great option for a entry-level AR or if you're just looking to add to the collection or have something as a go-to AR, check out Springfield Armory and the SAINT line, all right? Anyway, BCM has designed this guy so that way there wouldn't be any issues whatsoever, right? You've got first off, check out this lever here. It's a big guy, but it is not so easily depressed where you have to think about accidentally hitting it. Also too another reason for these oversize controls like this, and actually getting it is because in a high stress situation where you might need to actually adjust your length of pull, I don't know, maybe you're going from an open sight, you might have a magnifier now and you need to decrease that length of pull some so you have the right eye relief. They make it very easy to make those adjustments. But again, super solid and you don't have to really worry about it getting hit on accident, right? You've also got this little lip right here, which is pretty neat. They added that in there. So if you wanted to throw, again, I'm going to mention the ranger band if you wanted to use that so it locks into place here. It doesn't actually hit the adjustment lever. It gets on that, caught on that little lip, it keeps your slinging in place and you don't have to worry about it going anywhere. So great for storage, stowage, whatever you need. All right? Also too, QD sling, swivel, or can you do sling mount right here and also a horizontal sling attachment if you need it. Nice recoil pad. Does it got the stars on it? Of course it does. So there you guys go. BCM makes a great one. Highly recommend, and let's talk about our final stock we got up. The last one on the list is actually the second mention for Magpul because, well, guys, they've just been in the market for a long time and they've been producing quality stuff. What more can I say? Plenty of DOD, law enforcement contracts. They just keep making awesome stuff. And their stocks are part of that awesomeness that they create. All right? The one stock that I actually am a huge fan here of is the Magpul MOE SL. Now the SL is just a slim. It's kind of like their other take on the M4 stock and maybe the BCM stock that we showed earlier.

Bravo Company BCM Gunfighter Stock

So instead of having the exposed lever down here, they've got it right here and it's ambi so it's exactly the same position. On the other side, you still have the QD sling mount here and then also your horizontal and it looks more like a 45 degrees sling mount there. Very cool. Also too, nice full coil pad on the back. Now, they also make two different versions of this stock, which I'm a big fan of. They make the SLK, which is a very compact stock and which would be nice if you're trying to go for something as compact as possible. If you've got like a little PDW setup, SBR, something along those lines. Can't be an AR pistol with a stock. It doesn't work in the eyes of the law. But you can have a short-barreled rifle with a stock. Just go do your homework before you start throwing stocks on AR pistols and become a felon like that. Okay? Anyway, you can throw a stock like this on at least a 16-inch barrel though without any questions and I do like it. The SLS is also an excellent option, pretty much the same profile as this guy, but it has the battery compartments. Interestingly enough, the battery compartment opening on a lot of them you find facing the rifle or facing, I guess you could say what would be down range. However, on the SLS, the battery compartment openings are actually facing the shooter. I'd be interested to try that and see how that feels against the shooter and the cheek weld. But from the designs of it and how it looks, this thing here doesn't look like it's actually going to be messing with you or be uncomfortable, right? And it also makes sense to have the battery compartment tubes opening towards the shooter because I feel like it's a whole lot easier to get to, instead of having to do this type of number like what you saw on the B5 Systems.

Roundoff

So it would be interesting to try once we get some in. We might take one to the range, show you guys. Make sure you're following us on Instagram and Facebook. As long as these places still allow us to be there. Because we post up all sorts of different videos and things there that you might not see on the channel. And of course, all of our stories and things. I try to interact with you guys the best that we can. All right? But anyway, Magpul has been on the list twice. Because like I said, just great products. B5 Systems is probably still my favorite stock just out of ergonomics and all and looks. Looks are like half the battle, right? Maybe 90% of the battle because if you're not looking cool, you're just not cool, right? That's not true guys. The best way to look cool is of course to get some professional training and to practice, practice, practice. Even if it is just dry firing at home, that will actually incorporate muscle memory, help build muscle memory, and it's something you guys need to do. Because let's just say you might win this rifle right here and you don't know how to shoot it adequately. You're going to be going to the range with a, I don't know, it's probably going to be at the end of the day a $5,000 setup and you're not going to know how to shoot it or perform with it. And that's just embarrassing, right? So go to the range, get some practice, get some professional training out there. Let me know down to the comments of course, your thoughts about pistol braces and everything that's happening there. And of course too, what is your favorite AR stock and for which platform? If you're going for am SBR, what are you running? If you're going for a 20-inch, 24-inch rifle, what type of stock are you running? And yes, this was all about adjustable stocks. We'll do an entire talk on stationary stocks before long. Okay? Last thing I want to talk to you guys about is our current giveaway. All right? I mentioned earlier in the video that I would tell you all about how to get your entries in for the Colt Python. Yes, 357 Magnum Colt Python is one giveaway to one winner. And we've also got this guy right here. This is the SIG Copperhead. This is our snakes giveaway. One winner is getting both of these guns. I think that's pretty freaking awesome. And head on over to classicfirearms.com, hit that top banner. You'll see both of these guns featured there, and then in that way it's going to show you all the different ways to get your entries. One of those ways is through a code word. That code word is going to get you at least a few hundred extra entries and that code word is snakes because it's a copperhead and a python. Makes sense, right? All right, guys, we'll leave it off there. Again, I'll see y'all at classicfirearms.com. Talk to you guys down in the comments. God bless, stay safe. See you soon.
