Classic Insights - General

Two-point rifle slings provide the optimal balance of security and mobility for a defensive long gun setup. The weight is distributed more evenly than with a single-point sling, while many designs include quick adjust tabs allowing for a wider range of applications.

There are many effective ways to conceal a defensive handgun but which is best will vary from person to person. So, which concealed carry method is right for your EDC?

The 9mm revolver has always been a somewhat niche firearm, offering lower capacity than most modern semi-autos and less stopping power than more conventional defensive revolver cartridges. Shooters unwilling to compromise one way or the other tend to carry a magazine-fed pistol or if they prefer a revolver, will stick to the venerable .357 Magnum or .44 Magnum.

Every firearms enthusiast should have a police trade-in pistol in their collection. These handguns are typically well maintained, have relatively low round counts compared to other used firearms, and are still incredibly functional and reliable. Plus, they are often available at a fraction of the cost of a new production Glock or Smith & Wesson pistol in today's market.

Choosing between a leather or kydex holster can be frustrating, as each material has pros and cons. Leather is usually more comfortable but is also more plyable - meaning it can wear out and lose its shape. Kydex is rigid and offers positive retention; however the concealed carry market is flooded with suboptimal designs of wildly varying quality.

Some of history's greatest firearms innovations have come about as the result of blending two iconic designs; such is the case with Brigade Manufacturing's new Makasi rifle.
