How's it going, everybody? Clint here with Classic Firearms. Coming at you all today with another manufacturer's review of Kalashnikov USA and we're going to start off K USA with their KR-9 and KP-9 line of firearms and these things are sweet. It's pretty much a 9MM AK. Now it doesn't have a long-stroke piston system in it. It is just direct plowback, but they are super cool. Right? So Kalashnikov USA has been around in the United States K USA Kalashnikov USA. I think we can make that relation there since about 2011. Pretty much once the Russian sanctions went into effect, we were like, man, it'd be really cool if we had some Russian guns here and they're like, well, we just make them here in the US. It seems easy enough to me. So that's, what's been happening and Kalashnikov USA is just making some pretty cool stuff since then.

Kalashnikov USA KR-9 & KP-9

And what we've got right here is like what I said their KR-9, this is the rifle variant of their 9MM carbon. And this guy is pretty much everything AK except for the gas system and everything else just feels right. First off, super smooth action on these guys. They are a lot of fun to shoot. They shoot well, and they have their own 30 round magazines, which are fun. They're fun. They're easy enough and they work well with that being said AK type controls. As you can see with that type of safety right there, easy enough, again, the mag release right back here as well. You can see on that tab and yeah, it's just a nice gun. I do like that they have the integrated Picatinny rail right up top. And it's also that swivel or that hinge the top receiver or excuse me, dust cover, which is really nice. Make sure that you do, if you do run an optic on here it's going to be returning to zero each time you remove the cover or fold it up. Pretty nice. Also too, you do have a side folding stock on this guy, which I like quite a bit just to press the button here, folds off to the side, makes it nice and compact. And it's also applicable if you want to throw it on the KP9, which is the pistol variant, you can do that with this guy that you see right here. This is based off, of Russia's Vityaz which is pretty much Russia's MP5, right? I mean just take an AK, shorten it and chamber at 9MM and there you go. Now you can throw on an SB tactical brace or other types of braces with different adapters, all that you want.

Kalashnikov USA KP-9

Of course, the same type of features that you find in the KR-9 are here except shorter barrel, slightly different muzzle device on this guy here is you'll see that your ports are I guess it's more functioning as a break, but your ports are more focused up top and to the sides where the KR-9 has them pretty much going all the way around. So I think that's acting more as a Flash Hider or on this guy. So there you go. Pretty cool. But like I said, same exact controls as your standard AK that's out there, AK, AKM whatever you want to call it. And they go safety perfect and I do actually like the grip on these guys quite a bit, I will say, though, if you are outside and it's a nice hot day and you start to get sweat, whatever water on your hands or anything, it's not the most textured. In fact, it's not textured at all so if you're afraid of slippage maybe, looking at a grip replacement wouldn't be a bad idea, but hey, it's actually pretty comfortable and ergonomic just to hold as is. And also to the polymer foreign on this guy, it's going to be great at heat reduction, probably not for a very long time with sustained fire. But again, it's 9MM, not 7.62x39 we're running through this guy so not too worried about that. All right, but there it is. I do like the KP, KR-9 series because they are just so dang fun to shoot, and everybody loves an AK and everybody loves 9MM's so why not just combine the two and go have some fun. All right. Now, speaking of7.62x39, let's talk about the KR-103 next. Next up is a completely 100% made in the USA AK.

Kalashnikov USA KR-9

KR-103

AK 100 series at that by Kalashnikov USA and it is their KR-103 and we actually spoke with Kalashnikov USA at shot show 2020 last year and it's been awhile since we've shown any shots. So coverage and we actually covered all four days. Yes, it is a three-day event, but on day zero, I guess you have the industry day at the range. We go out shoot and have a pretty good time out there, but we cover every single day. So if you guys are curious to see that footage from back when we could travel and go to industry shows and things like that, check out all of our shot show coverage. But anyway, let's go ahead and check out what Matt over at Kalashnikov USA had to say about the KR-103.

Interview

Matt

Yeah, what we have here is a KR-103. This is basically the Russia's replacements to the AKM series of rifles. This is often referred to as 100 series. What we got here is as authentic as you could possibly get to a true Russian 100 series rifle. This is chamber and 7.62x39. Everything from the muzzle to the buck pad is 100% American made everything from the springs, detents, screws, everything you can think of even the magazines is a hundred percent American made here. I mean, we got everything down through even our camera bit every everything you think of the thin stem everything is a hundred series. This is the best you can get to authentic 100.

Clint Morgan

That's pretty awesome. I'm also liking too that it already comes with the optic mount on the reverse side there. That's definitely sweet and just a real clean, good looking setup. Very impressed. Nicely done.

Matt

Yeah, we will be doing insightful and feature that will be coming out for right now it is the fix but the side folders are coming. If you look at our K-9's, they have the 5.5 rear block on it so it's only natural it's going to get the side folder on it.

Clint Morgan

All right. Well, Hey, very good. Looking at K 100 series, Matt. Thanks for taking time.

Matt

Absolutely man.

AK-103 Continued

Appreciate it guys. Check out Kalashnikov USA guys. So neat info coming from Matt with K USA over there. And what's neat about the original AK-103 is it's actually one of the last designs overseen by the man himself. Miquel Kalashnikov. Now what's really neat about the KR-103 is the fact that it does have a forge carrier forge trunnion and hopefully we see one soon, maybe even with the side folding stock, but understand shot show 2020 happened. And then everybody started to get sick. I'm not saying because of shot show, but anyway, different conversation, but production on things really got wacky and demand got real wacky and hopefully, maybe sometime soon, we'll actually start to see a little bit more production of firearms and ammo, which by the way, if it hasn't happened already. You guys should be receiving those notifications that I told you about the ammo drop that we do have coming, quite a few.

Komrad

Make sure you are signing up for our text alerts, text video to the number you see at the bottom of the screen. And also you can take a photo of this QR code either way. You'll be prompted to enter our text alerts, to be notified first for when these ammo shipments or other cool things like giveaways take place. All right. Anyway, leave me a comment down below about the KR-103. What do you guys think about that? And fingers crossed we see one soon. Now, what do you guys say? We talk about something pretty cool. It's non NFA it's 12-gauge and it's called the Komrad. The Komrad, this guy right here is a 12-Gauge firearm. Now this is not an NFA item no paperwork's ATF dealings with other than your 4473 or whatever your state or local requirements even may require of you.

Kalasnikov USA Komrad

But the comrade is pretty sweet. It's a AK style semi-auto magazine fed 12-Gauge firearm. I mean, how much more cool can it get? Right. It's based off of the Russian Sega design. And I really like what Kalashnikov USA have done with this guy. First off, everything you see here is what comes with it right out of the box, including the vertical grip, the adjustable grip here, and also the SB tactical brace adjustable. Sweet. Now it does come with two, five round detachable mags. You will notice too, that it does have just over a 12 and a half inch barrel. Nice. And it does have your threaded muzzle nut. Cool. And it also has an adjustable gas block on it. So if you wanted to shoot low brass to slugs, this thing's going to cycle just about everything pretty awesome if you ask me and it feels pretty awesome too. Yeah, it does. So what I do like about it is you do have all those Picatinny rail if you wanted to throw on a different grip, you can, because this is a firearm the vertical grip is completely fine. It ships with it in the box hopefully it's fine right? No, it is. Also,Picatinny rail right up top if you wanted to throw some flashlights, tactical accessories, whatever you want, you can, and you do just have the standard type of beads site here at the little short radius on it, not bad for this type of setup, but if you did want to throw on some other type of optics red dot, something like that, you can, because you do have the optics rail that you see right here. Cool. Right. Nice. Now it does shoot either the two and three quarter 12 gauge shells or the three inch shells you're choosing whatever you want, standard AK controls. Again, there's your safety, very easy to actuate. Nice. And then of course your charging handle, that sounds like an AK Chamberlain 12 gauge. How cool is that? Right. Very nice adjustable braces. We've already hit on an overall, just a really cool design again, based off of the original Sega design. Kalashnikov USA, again, being around since 2011, after all of these sanctions were put in place to prevent Russian firearms from entering the country. They're like, Hey, we like Russian firearms. Why don't we just start building our own here? But they're obviously not Russian they're American. So hence Kalashnikov USA, right? here they are. And they're making some pretty cool stuff. Hopefully, hopefully we get to see that KR-103 I'd really like to take that guy out and shoots that guy a little bit. But anyway, the Komrad I will definitely be taking to the range because just look at it. Am I right? I want to say how quickly I can mag dump it, obviously, but anyway, really cool. Let me know your thoughts and opinions about Kalashnikov USA. For me personally, I'm definitely a fan. After talking with them at shot show last year, they were just great people to talk to. I really liked all the different stuff they brought to the booth and getting able to just pick up and play with everything was a lot of fun. And you can just tell the pride and the amount of detail or attention to detail that they have in their products is something that's pretty cool to see in person. Kalashnikov USA gets two thumbs up from me. Now, if we could just get the KR-103 how many times we're going to hit on that Kalashnikov. Now the last thing I want to talk about is our current giveaway.

Roundoff

It's this guy right here. Excuse me, shorty. Let me put this guy on the table with that beefy Aquatech Bipod that you see right here. This right here is the SCAR-20S chambered in 7.62 NATO. I think that's mostly centered up for you guys. Hopefully I'm not leaving anything out, but yeah, this thing is a lot of fun. It's everything. I think the SCAR platforms should be. Now granted, I had mentioned in our video announcing this as our giveaway that the SCAR-17 was something that took some time to grow on me and even still every now and then I'm like enter the 20 though and I'm like yeah, I could run the 20. All right. I liked the longer rail space I liked that longer barrel you really getting the maximum effectiveness out of the cartridge that you're shooting through it in this case it's 7.62 NATO, but they also have it chambered in 65 Creedmoor, which we've also given away. We've paired it up again with that Aquatech Bipod and also to the Trijicon for five and a half power by 50 millimeter lens. This thing is sweet. The eye relief is fantastic. The clarity of the lens and the glass is phenomenal. The brightness of the radical is too much put on a little bit of electrical tape on top of this guy, if you're outside and it's super bright out and you'll be fine. All right. But overall, really great firearm loved this the guys lay superstar trigger to Ambi controls. It's a great gun. All right.
