Hey everybody, Clint here with classic firearms. Coming at you guys today with what I think is going to be a pretty fun video, especially once we get you guys involved. And it's all about the top five firearms chambered in 7.62 x39, other than the AK variant, AKM, whatever you want to say. All right, so other than that guy, because obviously that guy is great. It's a pinnacle, it's probably actually obsolete, so we shouldn't even talk about it and that's why we're not, right? I hurt somebody's feelings, but anyway guys, we're here to talk about top five rifles, pistols, whatever chambered in 7.62 x39, other than the AK. Even though some of these are kind of close, like for instance, let's just go ahead and talk about it because it's probably everybody's favorite on the table. The Galil ACE and this is the Galil ACE pistol chambered in 7.62 x39 obviously, taking AK mags, but it's kind of like the AKM Israeli style and better, right?

Galil ACE

So the Galil ACE guys, pretty much designed by IWI, IMI, so first off there was the Galil and then the Galil ACE to be more of a tactical... I guess you could say form of the Galil rifle. Again, this is a pistol with a side folding brace, just like that right there. Which yeah, you can still shoot it, but it's not going to be the most comfortable trying to shoot it, the brace does kind of get in the way. But you can twist it out a little bit and get real comfortable in there. So there you go. Just like that all right. So it's brace does rotate for whatever's most comfortable to be on your forearm as it's supposed to be fired, what a joke. But anyway, this thing is pretty sweet guys. I am a huge fan of this. And if you guys are familiar with the Galil ACE's that came in about a year, maybe a little bit longer ago than that, there was an entire blemished cell, but these things looked pristine and I couldn't find any blemishes. And I really kicked myself for not buying one. And that's probably one of my few regrets in life. But anyway guys, the Galil ACE is probably going to be at the top of most of our lists. And it's very similar to the AK Function. It's got very similar controls, except it does have an ambidextrous safety select, as you can see right here. And on the other side, it's just easily activated by your thumb, which I am a huge fan of. I also like that a little bit shorter than your standard AK safety and it being ambidextrous, you don't have to worry about completely removing your hand from the fire control or anything like that. You can keep your hand right where it needs to be, which is pretty sweet. So definitely a huge fan of the Galil ACE.

M10X Zhukov

Next one, I want to talk about that's similar to the AK, AKM is the M10X Zhukov, which is pretty cool by M+M. Now this guy here is pretty much like the AKM 2.0, monolithic upper receiver with M-LOK rail attachment, QD studs on it as well, side folding Magpul Zhukov Stock, which is very nice, there you go. Can still get to the trigger and the firing control group. So that way, if you wanted to, you could fire it like this, which is always awesome, right? Also too, this guy here does have a left-handed charging handle, which is pretty neat. But it also too, pop out and put on the right-hand side. So you have an ambidextrous charging handle. So if you like the standard AK side of it charging, the right-hand side charging, you can do that. Or if you wanted to go to the left-hand like this is set up, you can do that as well. Also too, this one and the burnt bronze color, I think is just a really good looking look to it. I like the color of it a lot. Adjustable gas block, all of that is pretty neat. And also too, an Ambi safety. It's also a 45 degree short throw safety. So like I said, this thing's got some pretty modern features on it. Monolithic upper, that's M-LOK, things like that. 2d studs all over the place. A lot of modern features that aren't found on your standard AK. So it's pretty cool that the M10 has all of that. And pretty much still the same operating system as the AK, a lot of fun right?

Maxim Defense PDX

Now let's talk about the two AAR's that we have on the table here. Let's go to talk about this little guy. This is the Maxim Defense PDX, and this is a pistol in its nature. And also too, chambered in 7.62 x39 with its fun little bent magazine. And Maxim Defense came out with the PDX because... Well, they're pretty awesome, right? The Hate Brake on it... And this is the muzzle device it's called the Hate Brake, this thing is so cool. It actually... So it looks just like a regular cone, right? What's neat about that is, shooting it you would think it would just be all over the place, but shooting this thing, it actually maintains a pretty decent level, low recoil, even for 7.62 x39, a 7.62 cartridge, easy to shoot. But all of this,,, most of the sound, most of the recoil, most of the fireball, everything else is directed away from the shooter in this case. And it just makes it for a nice, smooth shooting firearm. And I'm definitely a fan of it. We gave one away that was chambered in 5.56 I want to say, and a five and a half inch 5.56 I was not excited about shooting. I think about 10 inches is probably the minimum when it comes to 5.56. And when we took this to the range, I was like, "I don't know how much I'm going to like this." But due to this muzzle device, I actually found myself enjoying it a lot. But of course, Maxim Defense makes them in 7.62 x39, obviously, and also 300 blackout. Sweet look at that, nice balance. But anyway, very cool gun, Ambi safety as well, Radian Raptor charging handle, which is always really nice. And yeah, also too a nice little color tone that you got there. Not exactly FN's 50 shades of FDE, but you got a cool little brown and FDE everywhere else. So nice, good job. Maxim Defense. And yeah, it's kind of an AR pistol. Well it is an AR pistol, but the recoiling assembly that they have is pretty neat. It's pretty much the buffer becomes a part of the bolt carrier group. Makes for putting the gun back together after disassembling it kind of a challenge, but I think it's partly due... I guess you can say the minimal recoil on it is partly due to the recoil system on it. Or excuse me, the buffer system on it. So pretty neat.

Radical Firearms AR-15

Now the other one we've got up here is a Radical firearms. This is an AR-15 chambered in 7.62 x39. And I know that back in the day, maybe even still so now, there used to be some reliability issues, as far as feeding 7.62 x39 cartridge into the AR platform. It's just not a platform that was designed for this cartridge. But after making that comment on one of our previous videos, I read a lot of y'all's comments and a lot of you guys say, "Hey, I've got a 7.62 x39 AR I absolutely love it, love the way it shoots and I've never had any issues whatsoever." So if that's the case awesome, that actually kind of changed my opinion on things and actually taking it out to shoot and it working flawlessly is kind of cool. So there's that. So yes, I've shot 7.62 x39 AR's before, they're fun. Again, it kind of sounds like blasphemy to me because I'm like, AR 300 Blackout, 5.56. But then there's 50 Beowulf and 458 SOCOM, why not throw in the world's favorite caliber, 7.62 x39 right? So sweet, cool. So that's what you've got with the radical firearms here. You've got the full length, think this is a 15 inch M-LOK rail on it. One 20 round mag, mission first tactical grip and also their minimalist stock. And it's just a cool firearm. So 7.62 x39 AR's have been a very popular thing for a very long time. I've got several friends, coworkers here that have built their own AR chambered in 7.62 x39 and they love them. So had to mention that for sure.

PTR KFR Gen II

Next one we got over here guys is one that I am a huge fan of. And this is the PTR 7.62 x39. This is a 16 inch barrel on the PTR and I've got a personal PTR 91 chambered in 7.62 NATO. And I really, really like these guns. Based off of an HK design, which is really cool. This thing right here, it's heavy. Don't get me wrong, it's built as a battle rifle. In a full power rifle cartridge like 7.62 NATO or .308. And this guy here, as you can imagine being a heavier, bigger rifle like this guys, shooting it... It's sweet. That's all you need to know right? It's going to be light recoiling and everything else about it is just going to be awesome.

PTR KFR Gen II

Also too, it coming with a 30 round PMAG, AK PMAG, which is really cool. You've got that nice wide extension for the magazine release right back here, which is always very nice. And then of course, a very easy to actuate safety selector on it, on the left-hand side. And also your rail right up top for any type of optic you want to throw on it. This right here is a very cool gun, 7.62 x39. It's a great cartridge. And you can put it in so many different platforms along with the PTR-91, AR's. The M10X PDXs by Maxim Defense. And of course, what I'm going to list is the number one 7.62 x39 cartridge shooting gun, other than the AK or M70 that we have here by Zastava, Galil Ace. The Galil Ace, it is just... It's so good guys. It's proven, it's reliable, it's a Galil. So this guy here is my pick for my number one. What is y'all's pick though? I want to hear from y'all down in the comment section, any other platform that I may have missed here, chambered in 7.62 x39. How about one honorable mention and a one that maybe if I spent a little bit more time with it, it would actually be on the list, CZ BREN 2. Now what I'm excited about the CZ BREN is, maybe we'll see a 7.62 x51 CZ BREN at some point? That might in my mind, and a lot of y'all might disagree with me here... Compete with the FN SCAR though? Just saying, but yes, CZ does make a BREN 2, not the old school cool BREN machine gun, top fed magazine, but they make a BREN 2 that fires 7.62 x39. And it is actually a really, really cool gun. But unfortunately we don't have one to feature right now. And it might actually take the place of the Galil ACE for me. But I got this here in front of me, so this is what it's going to be guys.
