Everybody, today we're here to talk about the top five striker fired pistols that aren't a Glock. Let me introduce you to my personal favorite, the YEET Cannon. What is that abomination on top? It's my tactical tape with my precision reflex sight. Hey everybody, Clint here with Classic Firearms, and like I said at our intro there, we're here to talk about the top five striker fired pistols that aren't Glocks, not featuring the YEET Cannon. But anyway, hey, if you all haven't noticed, our video room might look a little bit different. It probably looks a little same to you are on that end of the camera, but you know what? We actually are finally moved into our new warehouse, our new video room, but we're not done with moving yet. But hey, we're in here, this is the first video that we're making in here, so pretty exciting stuff. So make sure you stay tuned for all sorts of upcoming new stuff from us. I'm pretty excited to hop on some, I guess you could say new projects, but you'll see all about that later. Anyway, let me know, or actually, better yet, just go and hit a like if you're liking our layout so far. If you want to see something change, like maybe a different gun up here or a few different guns, a lot of these are going to have to come down anyway because we're giving most of them away, so we're going to have to switch them out with something, what would you like to see? All right? I'm curious. Anyway. But let's go ahead and let's just hop right into our video, top five guns that are striker fired that aren't Glock.

Canik TP9SFx

Number one, Canik. I'm going to talk about Canik because I think right out of the box you are getting a pretty sweet pistol. This one specifically is the Canik TP9SFx 9mm pistol. Most of the guns we'll be talking about today are 9mm. I think all of them are. But anyway, what I like about this gun is, for the price, all of the features you are getting. The SFx is coming already with an extended mag release, definitely a fan. It's coming with already a ported slide, extended barrel, all of that type of fun stuff. Warren fiber optic front sight, but the Warren tactical sights all around are great. One of probably the best, especially for its price range triggers out of the box. I have always been super impressed with the trigger on these guys. And you'll see here, it's just got your typical light blade front type of safety. But anyway, pull up just a little bit here. Yes, we have a little bit of travel, a little bit of resistance, and then boom, right there. And the reset, ready for this, that's it. This thing is phenomenal for that. I'm also a huge fan of the forward slide serrations and even the rear serrations, and also the fact that it comes with multiple magazines with extended base plates. So this guy, what, is a 20 round mag that it comes with, and it comes with like two or three, so that's pretty freaking awesome. The overall grip and the stippling, very ergonomic, very comfortable Picatinny rail. All the controls are super ergonomic, but none of which that I feel like I would be actuating accidentally, so very cool. My only I guess you could say critique of this gun really is the rear base plate here for adding an optic. I love the fact that they've made it so you could actually add a red dot on it, but it's by removing this, you're also losing your rear sight. I do like to keep either a co-witness or something along those lines with my iron sight and a red dot on my pistols, so that's the only thing that bothers me about this gun. Other than that, I think, again, right out of the box, it's hard to beat a Canik.

Canik TP9SFX

Springfield Hellcat

Now this guy's got a nice long slide on it. What do you say we take something a little bit more smaller to the next one? For conceal carry subcompact pistols, the Springfield Hellcat. Now, when they first came out, the Springfield Hellcat was going to every influencer, social media person, whatever, and Springfield did a huge marketing push. I mean, it was kind of smart for them because they were launching a new product and, well, they've actually did a really good job with it, so what can you say? Now, another thing. Before I even start talking about the gun, one thing I do want to say about Springfield Armory is in our Springfield Armory manufacturer's spotlight video, you guys still gave them a little bit of hate for some of their politics way back in the day and they actually personally responded to a few of you alls comments with an argument that I thought was, or I guess I should say a response, which I thought was great. Pro2A Company, they... For a while there even I had a bad taste in my mouth from Springfield Armory. But guys, I got to tell you, I think they actually really redeemed themselves and I think they actually are a Pro2A company. And they're also making phenomenal firearms. They're Springfield SAINT line of ARs, the SAINT Victor lines, and yeah of course the M1A right? But hey, I got to tell you all, I'm still a fan of Springfield and I'm a huge fan of the Hellcat. So far I've had a little bit of experience with it at the range and what I like about this guy is from one, on this one, it comes with two magazines. Both of them have an extended base plate. One of them is 11 round capacity, and what I like about it, again, the extended base plate, I don't get that pinky overhang like you would see with a flush base plate, which they also included. So if you wanted to go for that maximum concealability and lesser printing, lower profile, you can throw on that flush base plate. But they also included this guy that has a 13 round capacity in a compact firearm like this right here of 9mm. I think that is great. I like also too you've got the night sight right up front, looks really good. Not too big of a fan of the little cup-style rear sight or the little U rear sight, but hey, it works, especially for up close where you would most likely be using this type of firearm. I like it. Again, forward serrations because I am a press checker. I like that. And I also really liked the trigger on this guy. Let's go ahead and check it out here, and you'll see we've got just a little bit of take-up and then I feel the wall there, and then there it is. So a little bit more travel after feeling the wall. Let's see how the reset is. Little travel, but not bad, and you can hear that nice and audibly. Pretty cool. It also does have a loaded chamber indicator where you can see the brass right on top of the slide here. So if that's something you're into, obviously it has it, that's cool. So you don't have to do the press check. But low light conditions, whatever it might be, you can still take a look, right. And also too making sure the extractors grabbed it. But overall, I'm a huge fan of the Hellcat.

The Springfield Hellcat

Sig P365

Now, this gun's not really included in the top five that I'm about to talk about, but it's a good runner up compared to this guy. And it's another little compact guy. And this, this right here is the SIG P365. Again, I'm pretty familiar with this guy. This one specifically has the ambi manual safety on it, so that might be something some of you all are looking for. But if you all would like to see a comparison video or a head-to-head video of the 365 versus the Hellcat, let me know down in the comments. I would actually have quite a bit of fun shooting these again anyway. So yeah, let me know down in the comments, but hey, for our second pick in this video here right now, we're going with the Springfield Hellcat.

Sig Sauer P365

Shadow Systems MR920

Now I said I'm not going to mention Glock other than what you see on the wall over here and I'm still not mentioning Glock, but it looks similar, but it's not. This right here is the Shadow Systems MR920. And Shadow Systems is made right here in the US right out of Plano, Texas. And I got to tell you all, if I wanted a Gucci Glock, I think I would actually just buy one of these because right out the box, take a look at what you're getting at. Now, granted, the RMR does not come factory on the gun, right? You typically get the slide cover, but everything else you see here right out of the box. And that includes the AmeriGlo night sight front sight there and you've also got the match fluted barrel, which I am also a really big fan of. Now, the match barrel is also made by Shadow Systems. Most of the components you see here including the trigger, slide, everything is all Shadow Systems. Now, what else is nice is the fact that it does take Glock 19 parts. It is kind of based off of the Gen 4 frame so you have that larger magazine release here compared to the Gen 3s, things along those lines. And then you still have a Glock-style Picatinny. Well, Glock rail, not Picatinny at all, but I really like what they've done with it. Again, they've made like a custom Glock except made in the US and also it's, for the price, when I look at what I did to my Glock 19 Gen 4 compared to this here, this would've saved me a lot of money. Just throwing it out there. Threaded barrel already, threaded fluted match barrel, the trigger on it, super nice. Let's go ahead and show you guys that really quick here. So you'll see, yeah, it's a nice flat face and trigger, very similar to what I have in mine. Pulling it back some, get a little bit of travel and then a little bit more travel after you feel the wall, there's the break. Nice. And let's check out the reset. Yeah, short reset. That feels great. And that was not letting the slide go all the way back, but there it is. Man, this thing is sweet. Now, I haven't gotten out to the range just yet to do a couple of mag dumps on it yet, but I am excited to bring this one out. If you would like to see a whole review of the Shadow Systems, again, let me know down to the comments there, but yeah, let me just say, I'm excited to get out there and maybe even use this as a carry gun for a while and see how it holds up. I'd be pretty excited. Now, according to Shadow Systems, a lot of people on their team are prior military law enforcement and competitive shooters, and they actually really harp on their design and not just a pretty looking gun with all sorts of slide cuts, great serrations, everything else, but actually something that would be great for everyday carry. So I'm willing to put that to the test. Again, if you'd like to see me do a little bit of a test on this guy, use it as a carry gun for a while and give you my honest opinion on it, let me know down in the comments.

Shadow Systems MR920

Tara TM-9

And with that being said, let's move on to another type of unique pistol. Now this is a pistol I'm pretty excited about. Recently did a review on this guy here, and this is the Tara pistol. Now, this thing kind of caught me off guard because of the trigger on it. It's still striker fired, but it still has a single action double action take to it. And what I mean by that is, and let me go ahead and show you, right now it's double action, right? It's striker fired, like any other pistol you pull back and it's typically a little bit longer travel and heavy until the striker drops. Cool. It cycles. And now we're in a, I guess you could say a single action state. Because on the reset, it's real short, but now it's... It's hard to explain other than you guys actually shooting the gun. And check out my review of it. I think I do a little bit better job talking about it some. But it is striker fired, so you still, like I said, it's still striker fired, you still have nothing going on back here, but you don't have to keep racking the slide. So what's cool about that is you get that second strike opportunity. If you have a round that fails to fire, light strike, whatever it might be, you can go ahead, keep aiming down target, and it's like, "Okay, nothing happened." Let it reset. Cool. There you go. And then a much shorter reset after it cycles. It's really neat. Again, hard to explain without you guys feeling it for yourself, but I do a little bit better job on the range if you go and check out the Tara pistol video that we recently did. Picatinny rail underneath comes up to two 17-round mags. I like the fact that they are metal mags because, well, it's really drop-free and they're easy to insert. You still get the little bit of a cup up here, so if it ever gives you an issue getting it out you can get a hold of this guy and rip it out of there if need be. You've got that nice little double undercut here on the trigger guard, which is very nice. Offers for a great ergonomics and grip. And again, all the controls are easy to actuate and reminiscent of a Glock, but you, right out of the box, get a ambi release, which is really cool. I don't know. This pistol, it really interests me. Right? I really want to go and just keep on, keep on shooting it, and I have been, and it's been working really great. The sights on it too, they're not night sights per se, but they do pick up ambient light really well and I like the sight picture on them. Definitely better than a factory Glock sight. But yeah, everything about this gun is just really cool. Coming out of Montenegro. So yeah, if you're interested in a new everyday carry, more of a full-size style, definitely check out the Tara pistol that we've got on our website. Pretty sweet.

Tara Aerospace TM-9

H&K VP9L

All right, for our last striker fired pistol up guys, we've got the H&K VP9L. And this one specifically is the VP9L, a little bit longer slide, you'll see the slide ports. This one is definitely more set up for a competition style. And my experience with these guys have been very favorable. Very ergonomic grip. I like it a lot, but buddies of mine that have had the VP9 and other people I've talked to said they just get bored with it after a while. Me personally, I shoot a lot of different guns and I spend quite a bit of time with each of them, but I never really got bored with this guy. I can still run it, have a lot of fun with it, but I don't really typically always go back to it as my firearm choice, right? So I don't know. Overall, great quality. It is HK, right? And let's go and check out the trigger on this guy here. You'll see, we've got a little bit of take-up and we hit that wall, and that's it. So great trigger. Let's feel the reset. A little bit of travel, but not bad at all. I do like the way it feels. Nice and balanced in the hand as well. And the fact that it has a 20 round mag with it, that's pretty sweet. Night sights, not really night sights. That front one might luminate just a little bit, but from its ambient light, things like that. But overall it looks really good. And they did it right, as far as having an optic cut on the top of the slide where you don't have to remove the rear sight, kind of like how you have to do on the Canik. Now, the only thing I don't like about this gun is the mag release. It has that European-style mag release. I'm much more comfortable with just hitting it with my thumb, changing up my position here. But if I really want to hit it with my thumb on this guy, I have to kind of like come all the way over here and it's not the most intuitive for me. So, for instance, it's right back here towards the rear of the trigger guard, but it is ambi and it's easy enough for me to kind of move my trigger finger down here to hit the mag release. Granted, it's not the most comfortable for me, but again, it's a very European design. So I don't think that was just the way the gun was designed for us Americans, but it does have a striker indicator on it, which you can see right back here. It might be a little bit difficult for the camera to pick up, but right back here it looks pretty good. Pull the trigger and it goes away. Nice. I do like, too, the racking systems that they have in the slide. Of course, the ports you can act as forward serrations to get a good grip on. Nice rear serrations. And then back here, they bulge out just a little bit more so you can really get a good grip on this guy. So huge plus, as far as the slide goes. On all of these guns, I think this is probably one of my favorite slides. All right? But yeah, H&K VP9 I think is a slick gun, heck of a lot of fun to shoot, especially with 20 rounds of 9mm. But when it comes down to some of my personal favorites, the Shadow Systems that you see right here, again, for everything you get right out of the box, the ergonomics, the comfort, the familiarity, as far as like a Glock feels goes, I really, really like this guy. So that's probably my favorite, but coming in at a close second, believe it or not, mainly due to its uniqueness is the Tara pistol right here, and that's mostly because of that trigger.

H&K VP9L

Roundoff

And this is, again, the TN9X and wow, the trigger just gets me again. Having a double-action-type trigger on a striker fired gun just isn't something you typically see. And again, that short travel and reset. Yeah. I am definitely a fan of this guy. So again, like I said, if you want to hear more information about the Tara pistol, make sure you check out our video review of this guy. Adjustable backstrap too. Yeah, everything about it just pretty sweet. So cool lineup today as far as striker fired pistols go. Do you agree, disagree with me? Are you interested to see a little bit more coverage on any of these pistols? Like the Shadow System here. If you are, let me know down in the comments. And then what gun did I leave out, when it comes to striker fired of course, that you think I should've added in this group? I know. I know. I know, I should've left the YEET Cannon in here. I know. All right? Anyway, last gun I want to talk about guys is our current giveaway and it's this big old boy right here behind me. This is the Steyr SSG 08-A1. This is a .308 bolt action rifle. It's a heavy boy, but it's made for precision. Reaching out to about a thousand meters, you're getting right to that maximum effect of range of the .308 cartridge, and this guy is going to be able to drive it home no problem, especially with the cold hammer-forged barrel and the Leupuld optic that we paired it up with. So yeah, that thing's a lot of fun. If you want to see it in action, make sure you're checking out our video announcing it as our current giveaway. And of course, get your entries in at classicfirearms.com. Hit that top banner and it'll show you all the different ways to get your entries, including a code word, which you can see right at the bottom.
