Kimber 2K11

As fans of the double stack 1911 platform, we were excited to get some hands-on time with Kimber's new 2K11 line at Industry Day. These pistols look, feel, and run great - even beating out several competing offerings around the same price point.

Unlike most other double stack 1911s on the market these days, the Kimber 2Kll features a stainless steel frame and is available in 9mm as well as .45 ACP. The slide is compatible with most red dot optics and each pistol ships with three magazines, so this pistol is ready to hit the range right out of the box.

Canik Mete MC9 Prime

Canik is synonymous with innovation in the concealed carry pistol market, having launched one of the most competitive budget-oriented handguns ever made with the Mete MC9 (as well as the MC9 L and MC9 LS variants). Now, they are launching the Mete MC9 Prime, which Aaron tells us is the culmination of two years of design work.

This model has it all: a fluted and ported barrel, ported slide with aggressive forward serrations, MC9 Prime weight relief cut, 90 degree flat face trigger, Night Fision tritium sights, optics compatibility, flared magwell, and capacity of 17+1. For an affordable yet feature-rich concealed carry piece, it doesn't get much better than this.

Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 Metal HD

As the first steel-frame variant in the M&P line, the Smith & Wesson M&P 2.0 Metal HD has a bit more heft than its polymer and aluminum-frame brethren. This added weight, combined with the removable compensator, helps reduce muzzle flip and virtually eliminates felt recoil. And despite being an all-steel design, the M&P 2.0 Metal HD is an incredibly well-balanced pistol.

It handles remarkably well, retaining the standard M&P's instinctive point of aim while offering enhanced ergonomics and improved control when shooting. To quote Jason, "It feels amazing and you should probably get you one."

Staccato HD

The Staccato HD is essentially a Staccato P that takes Glock mags, with a few additional features that make it an excellent choice for concealed carry, duty use, or competition shooting. This model abandons the traditional 2011 grip safety and moves the rear backup iron sight in front of the optics plate, providing enhanced durability and shootability.

Additionally, the HD line is fully ambidextrous with improved ergonomics and a 17-degree grip angle, providing a natural fit for most shooters. The Staccato HD shoots flat (allowing for rapid follow-up shots) and is truly a do-everything pistol. We're looking forward to getting one for the video room so we can put it through its paces on camera.
